Principle Investigators:
The research theme of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases brings together world class research with a strong track record on undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. We are constantly looking for innovative ways to develop academic medical microbiology and clinical infection research within Wales.
The close links established with the NHS facilitate translational research and allow clinical evaluation of novel methodologies and diagnostics. Close links with industrial partners are established and there is a broad portfolio of research interest with particular strengths in virology, viral immunology, antimicrobial resistance and diagnosis of fungal infection.
