Promoting Active and Healthy Ageing
A conference in celebration of the United Nations International Day of Older People
An academic conference, followed by a public lecture by the Rt Hon Rhodri Morgan.
The conference
Research in the University and beyond is putting an increasing focus upon ageing, rather than on the chronic diseases of the elderly.
Work on a wide range of aspects of healthy ageing will be presented by Cardiff University researchers.
The Conference offers an opportunity to bring together the community of researchers and academics in ageing issues, health and social care practitioners and policy makers.
Delegates will have the opportunity for networking with staff working with older people, and to contribute to the discussions and debates on innovative ways to promote active and healthy ageing.
The public lecture
The lecture is part of the School of Medicine's "Science in Health" public lecture series. The lecture will be held in the Julian Hodge Lecture Theatre, Colum Road.
